Space Shuttle

The Space Shuttle is a personal origami favorite. The Shuttle has a similar folding technique to another one of my designs, the F-117 Nighthawk. Proceed with caution. The nose is made with an outside reverse fold, which I've tried to make as simple as possible.

(1) Fold in half and unfold.

(2) Fold the top raw edges to the center crease.

(3) Fold the tip down to the bottom of the layers.

(4) Fold the top layer slightly higher than the edge above.

(5) Fold new layers, trailing the to layer's edges.

(6) Lift the overlapping layers to fold the small triangle inside the pocket behind it.

(7) Push the layers down.

(8) Fold in half and rotate.

(9) Make a fuselage crease.

(10) Unfold.

(11) Blown up image. Precrease the nose with a mountain fold.

(12) Repeat the fuselage fold and flip over.

(13) Repeat the fuselage crease.

(14) Make a wing crease.

(15) Finish the wing by making a leading edge from the front corner of the wing to the back wingtip corner.

(16) Repeat for the opposite wing.

(17) Open the wings.

(18) Pull the tail of the fuselage upwards to make a stabilizer.

(19) Flatten the tail.

(20) Make winglets and add elevator

Finished tail section. Proceed to the nose.

(21) Make the nose round.

(22) Curve the top of the nose to make a cockpit.

Finished nose section.

Finished Space Shuttle.

Andromeda-class Star Lynx (Simplified)

The Star Lynx is a heavy built dart. It's extremely sleek and strong. This easy-to-assemble plane is promised to go at great distances when you are inside.

(1) Start by folding the paper in half vertically.

(2) Unfold.

(3) Pinch the center horizontally by folding the paper in half and unfolding.

(4) Fold the two top corners to the pinch.

(5) Fold the top edge to the center.

(6) Fold the top edges to the center crease.

(7) Fold the tip downwards.

(8) Fold the top edges at a very small angle. Leave a little breathing room, or you will rip the nose while folding in half.

(9) Optional. Lift the bottom flap.

(10) Push the flap in the pocket underneath.

(11) Repeat on the other side.

(12) Fold in half.

(13) Make the wing folds. Match the leading edges with the center crease.

(14) Open the wings.

Winglets are optional.

(15) Make the winglet at the end of the leading edge and at the back corner.

(16) Unfold.

(17) Squash the crease.

(18) Repeat.

Finished winglets.
